Originally from St. Louis, and a graduate from the University of Kansas, John began his career with a small firm in the ski resort town of Park City, Utah. Five years later, he moved to Salt Lake City to work for a mid sized commercial firm. In 1999, he moved to McAllen, Texas to join Danny and Bob at Boultinghouse Simpson. He was licensed in 2006 and became a firm principal in 2012. John was given the title ‘Citizen Architect’ by the American Institute of Architects in 2008 for his 7 years of public service to the City of McAllen’s Building Board of Adjustments and Appeals. It is a title given to few architects serving as an elected or appointed official that enhance the quality of life and the future of the community in which they serve. He continues to be engaged in the community on several levels ranging from a leadership role in his Homeowner’s Association to coaching little league soccer and baseball.
